At the end of the day most of us win; we earn more knowledge.

Don’t always look for permission, in any risky attempts you are foredoomed to break some rules. But without any risk; you won’t be able to reach as far. So go ahead and take a lot of risks (Just don’t risk your entire live and its livelihood).

Associate it with something else. It simply isn't valued as a valuable experience to us if it doesn't have some reward or noticeable consequence. Then you will have an easier time avoiding or sticking to a situation.
